People Drive Our Success
BLS Management Team

Barry Stoughton, President and Founder BLS Enterprises, Inc., 1986

A former high school math teacher with a passion for sales and problem-solving, Barry Stoughton stumbled onto the idea of a polyurethane trackpad when a contractor mentioned his rubber track pads were always wearing out. Barry's dedication to innovation launched TUFPADS® and continues to drive BLS.

Stoughton enjoys working with many leading associations to advocate for contractors, manufacturers and dealers. As an active member of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), Stoughton served on the Construction Equipment Sector Board and the World of Asphalt Management Committee. He is an Associate Council Member and vice chairman of the National Asphalt Pavement Association. He is on the Board of the Directors of the Independent Distributors Association and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association.

As active in the community as he is in the industry, Stoughton supports the American Cancer Society. Each year he leads a team of BLS employees in the annual Relay for Life fundraiser for cancer research. He volunteers for the Illinois Division American Cancer Society (ACS), where he is a member of the Northwest Suburban Leadership Council. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Augustana College Alumni Association and the Elk Grove Village Jaycees.

Matt Stoughton, General Manager

Matt Stoughton grew up in the family business, stuffing envelopes and counting track pads for his father. Throughout high school he helped update databases and inventory. During college breaks he worked in the accounts receivable and payables departments. Upon graduating from Bradley University with a degree in Business Management, he started working full time for BLS. Along with overseeing marketing and IT, Stoughton now serves as general manager, planning production and managing purchasing. Like Barry, Matt enjoys meeting with customers at trade shows and other industry events. He is currently leading the company's efforts to expand into even more product categories in the undercarriage market of the construction industry.
